RECORDS SPECIALIST HARDEEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
The City of Hardeeville Police Department has an immediate opening for a full time Records Specialist. Duties include but are not limited to researching and compiling data, developing and maintaining computer record-keeping operations, provide administrative support to Chief of Police This position requires flexibility, strong interpersonal, organizational and computer skills with the ability to work well with all levels of internal staff and outside stakeholders.
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Proficiently use all facets of Microsoft Office
- Effectively control multiple phone line operations
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.
- Type 50 wpm or more
- Demonstrate ability to learn the organization, procedures and operating details
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Use of shorthand stenography preferred

CITY OF HARDEEVILLE MEDIA TECHNICIAN I
The City of Hardeeville is accepting applications for the position of Media Technician I. This person will maintain the day-to-day operations of HTVN, the city’s government access station. They will be responsible for recording, editing and uploading data to the station. The candidate will work very closely with the city’s website and should be familiar with Apple Computers and Final Cut editing software. They also need to have good writing skills for broadcast along with knowing how to write press releases. This person will also serve as on-air talent from time to time. The candidate will be under the direct supervision of the Media Director. Other duties include; scheduling of shows for the television station, making decisions on content of the station, technical direct and record meetings in and around the city, along with performing other duties deemed necessary by the Media Director.
You must be able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up assignments with minimum direction. The candidate also needs to be able to handle the mental and physical stress of deadlines and several tasks that may come simultaneously. You may be required to move equipment up to 30 pounds. Your work area will vary from normal office conditions to working in the field which could expose you to outdoor temperatures with dirt and dust. Dress is usually business casual unless there is an event that calls for something else.
Some of the materials and equipment used are: Mac computers with Final cut editing software, Panasonic AVC Cameras, TriCaster Mini switching system and general office equipment and personal computer.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, Communications, Journalism or a related field plus 2-3 year of related experiences; any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A valid South Carolina Driver’s License is also required.
The candidate will record meetings. They will produce, write and edit on a news style program. They will operate cameras, produce, edit, and fill-in as host on sit down talk show. They will be responsible for recording events around the city including sporting events. The hours of the events vary.

Parks and Recreation Department Internship/practicum program
The City of Hardeeville is offering a paid internship/practicum program in our Parks and Recreation Department for College and University students. It is our objective to recruit the most qualified students and provide them experiences that enhance professional development and career opportunities.
The program will expose the intern to the Local Government Parks and Recreation Field through hands-on work experience. The program is designed to supplement course work and to stimulate further interest in a career related to Parks and Recreation. It is also designed to assess and identify potential candidates for future positions with the City of Hardeeville
The City of Hardeeville Parks and Recreation Department is committed to working closely with the citizens of our community to provide the best recreation, sport, and event opportunities possible in order to promote a safe, fun, and entertaining City.
Interns must be fluent in English with regards to speaking, writing, reading, and understanding. The internship is a minimum of 12 weeks in length. Starting and ending dates may be determined based on school’s semesters. Interns must have their internship recognized as part of an academic program. Students must hold or be pursuing a degree in a related field to the internship. Random drug testing may take place.

Interns will receive a stipend of $350/bi-weekly
Housing is available, provided by the City in a City-owned property. For stipend interns $25/per pay period will be deducted, which includes water, utilities, and internet. The housing unit is fully furnished and equipped with a full kitchen, microwave, cooking/eating utensils, and a television. You must provide your own bedding for a twin bed along with an alarm clock and other personal items. A $100.00 refundable housing deposit is required from all interns before or upon arrival to the City of Hardeeville. Public Transportation will not be provided. Automobiles are highly recommended for commuting to work and for social purposes.
The City of Hardeeville requires that all of its employees dress in a professional manner. Interns are expected to arrive for work dressed in an appropriate and clean shirt (collared or t-shirt depending on that day’s events) and pants or dress shorts. All employees are required to come to work with a clean, wrinkle-free shirt and shorts/pants. The interns are also required to wear khaki shorts/pants with clean tennis shoes and socks. Tennis shoes will be worn at all times while on duty unless otherwise instructed by a supervisor. No other footwear will be allowed to be worn while performing job-related duties unless instructed by a supervisor or depending on the department specifications. Nametags will be provided and must be worn at all times while in uniform. Sunglasses are NOT to be worn while conversing with City residents or program participants. Cellular phones are not permitted while at work unless for an emergency purpose.
Professional appearance is not only reflected through the use of uniforms but also by personal appearance. Grooming standards are to be followed at all times while performing job-related duties. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in disciplinary action. First offense equals a verbal warning, a second offense requires the intern to go home and change: and, a third offense requires the intern to go home and loss of pay.
Including bathing, clean teeth, and proper use of deodorant/antiperspirant. Please refrain from using any strong perfumes, colognes, or after-shave while at work.
Grooming Standards For Women
Shorts: Shorts will not be any shorter than 4 inches at the inseam. If the shorts are considered inappropriate then you will be sent home to change.
Hair: Hair must be an appropriate color, neat, and clean. Extreme hairstyles or colors are not permitted. If handling food, all hair must be tied back appropriately.
Miscellaneous: No excessive amount of make-up, perfume, or jewelry will be allowed while at work. No facial jewelry (including tongue rings) are allowed. Appropriate earrings will be permitted. No visible tattoos are permitted. Hats with college sports teams, and hats bearing the City of Hardeeville or State of South Carolina logos are permitted. Hats must be worn in the appropriate direction.
Grooming Standards For Men
Pants/Shorts: All pants/shorts will be worn around the waist, there will be no exceptions for baggy, extremely loose fitting shorts/pants. A belt should be worn if it is necessary.
Hair: Hair must be an appropriate color, neat and clean. Extreme hair styles or colors are not permitted. All facial hair must be neatly trimmed and groomed. If handling food, all hair must be tied back appropriately.
Miscellaneous: No excessive amount of cologne or jewelry will be permitted while at work. No facial jewelry/ piercings are permitted (including tongue rings). No visible tattoos are permitted. Shirts are to be worn at all times while at work. Hats with college sports teams, and hats bearing the City of Hardeeville or State of South Carolina logo are permitted. Hats must be worn in the appropriate direction.

The City of Hardeeville is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. This is a uniformed position assigned to the Patrol Division. All Officers participate and work in support of the department’s philosophy of Community Oriented Policing, Customer Service Leadership and Problem Solving. Work is performed on a rotating twelve hour shift configuration including weekends. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Law Enforcement Officer Certification preferred, bi-lingual preferred. Applicants will be subject to a thorough background investigation to include criminal, driving record and credit histories. Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License with no DUI or Driving Under Suspension in the past ten years.
