Job Description

The City of Hardeeville, South Carolina is seeking a highly motivated and dependable professional to serve as Finance Director for one of the regions most dynamic growth areas.  The City of Hardeeville has an existing operating budget of nearly $7 million.


This is a department head level position responsible for the day to day operations of the City Finance Department and direct supervision of all department staff members.  Successful candidates should possess a balance of educational and professional experience in governmental accounting and demonstrate proficient abilities in general accounting, financial analysis, state and federal grant administration, forecasting and budget preparation.  This position reports directly to the City Manager.


Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, public finance, public administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.  A Master’s degree is preferred.  Experience should include a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible financial administration with four (4) years in a supervisory capacity.  Governmental accounting experience required.  Familiarity with GAAP, GASB and fund accounting is necessary.  A detailed job description is available online at the City’s website

The City of Hardeeville is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. This is a uniformed position assigned to the Patrol Division. All Officers participate and work in support of the department’s philosophy of Community Oriented Policing, Customer Service Leadership and Problem Solving. Work is performed on a rotating twelve hour shift configuration including weekends. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Law Enforcement Officer Certification preferred, bi-lingual preferred. Applicants will be subject to a thorough background investigation to include criminal, driving record and credit histories. Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License with no DUI or Driving Under Suspension in the past ten years. Upon a conditional offer of employment, the successful applicant must undergo a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to employment.
