MECHANIC TECHNICIAN I
City of Hardeeville, South Carolina is currently accepting applications for the position of Mechanic Technician I. Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor this person will repair and maintain vehicles and equipment including, but not limited to, passenger vehicles, farm tractors, construction equipment, zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, chain saws, etc. Position will also be responsible for occasional other duties as required including mowing, weed eating, janitorial, etc. as assigned. Experience with repair and maintenance of large and small engines is required; State Driver’s License is required. The City of Hardeeville is actively seeking a candidate for a city attorney. This position will provide legal advice and services to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager and all City departments, boards, and commissions. Prepare ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other legal documents to best reflect and implement the purposes for which they are intended. Coordinate claims and litigation for suits against the City; especially in property damage or worker’s compensation matters by coordinating with outside counsel, drafting pleadings, or briefs, and preparing for court. Other legal services include monitoring risk exposure and revising related policies and procedures, verifying property titles and ownerships, conducting contract negotiations, interpretation of land use law, annexations, development agreements, assessing and advising on enforcement issues, responding to citizen inquires and complaints, and processing various claims.
The City Attorney will assist in the development and implementation of major City-wide policies in the Personnel and Labor relations areas. Attend Council meetings, committee meetings, public hearings, and City Manager staff meetings to provide legal advice on parliamentary procedure, on proposed courses of action or policy questions. Maintain availability to the City Manager and designated subordinates. Maintain confidentiality with regard to all matters discussed with the Mayor, City Council Members, and/or City Manager and staff.
A Juris Doctorate Degree is required as admission to the bar in South Carolina, at the time of commencing duties or within nine months thereafter. Over four years of experience in property law, administrative/government law, criminal law, drafting of law and regulations. In addition, substantial litigation, criminal law enforcement, and jury trial experience is required.

The City of Hardeeville is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. This is a uniformed position assigned to the Patrol Division. All Officers participate and work in support of the department’s philosophy of Community Oriented Policing, Customer Service Leadership and Problem Solving. Work is performed on a rotating twelve hour shift configuration including weekends. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Law Enforcement Officer Certification preferred, bi-lingual preferred. Applicants will be subject to a thorough background investigation to include criminal, driving record and credit histories.
