  1. Harry Williams

    Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Harry is the second child of a family of 10. He earned his Bachelors of Arts in Economics in 1971 at Rutgers University. He is a 42-year veteran of the footwear industry, including VP/Sales for Oshkosh, Body Glove, US Polo Association, FUBU, Rawlings and Lotto. He was former owner of the Cruiser Swim and Tennis Club in Sparta, New Jersey, and is currently semi-retired and working as Vice-President of Sales for Lotto Soccer. Williams has over 30 years of experience working in municipal government. He has served on various commissions and boards in Mahwah, New Jersey. During his time as an elected official in New Jersey, Harry has fought for necessary road improvements, wrote the mission statement for the transportation subcommittee, wrote legislation to form a municipal pool commission, and chaired the subcommittee on the municipal pool that led to a major renovation plan while being fiscally conservative. Harry and his wife Beth have been married for 31 years. They have two children, Lauren 27, and Jared 23.

  2. David Spisso

    Mayor Pro Tem David Spisso, the grandson of Italian immigrants, grew up in New Jersey, and then left to enlist in the U.S. Navy. Following an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1967. He was a Commissioned Naval Officer, earned his wings as a Navy Pilot and retired after 25 years of Naval Service. Mr. Spisso settled in Macon, Georgia and worked as the Vice President of Acquisition Management Inc., a company that restructured and refinance commercial loans. He was a Founding Father of the Youth Soccer Association and throughout the next 20 years he served as its President, as a State licensed Coach and a USSF certified Referee. He was selected to carry the torch prior to the 1996 Olympic Games. He was a Board member and volunteer for the Greater Hardeeville Chamber of Commerce, and has been involved in many of the Chamber's events and activities. Mr. Spisso has been married for 43 years, and he has two sons and six grandchildren.

  3. Mike Sweeney

    Michael was born in Pennsylvania, and worked for CIGNA Property and Casualty Company for 40 years, where he attained the title of Assistant Vice President. As a result of transfers by CIGNA, he lived in Michigan, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education and an MBA degree. His wife, Sue, is a Registered Nurse and was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 27 years. Michael and Sue have two daughters and three grandchildren. Michael is also a Lifetime Member of the Hardeeville Masonic Lodge.

  4. John Carroll

    John Carroll was born in Jasper County and raised in Hardeeville. His father, Dr. T. B. Carroll, was the town's doctor for over 40 years, and his mother was a registered nurse. John graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He worked in law enforcement for eight years before returning to school to earn his teaching credentials and Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. He taught at West Hardeeville School for 14 years. He was appointed part-time municipal judge for the City of Hardeeville in 1988 and served in that capacity until becoming the full-time judge in 2006. He retired in 2014 after serving as Municipal Judge for 26 years. He is proud of the fact that both his father and grandfather (Ernest Moorer) were mayors for the City. He has been married to his wife, Sherry, for 36 years, and they have two children. Sherry served as a councilwoman for the City from 2010 - 2014. His son, Blake, lives in Hardeeville with his wife, Karen, and their two children. His daughter, Megan, married Eric Horton and they reside in the Ridgeland area. His son is a biologist for Fuji Vegetable Oil, and his daughter is a teacher at Okatie Elementary School.

  5. Carolyn Kassel

    Council member Carolyn Kassel was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, DC and spent her 37 year career as an Executive Assistant for lawyers in Washington at four different law firms. At the end of her career in Washington she was supporting the firm's Managing Partner. She was involved in many high-profile cases over the years that made national attention.  She graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Legal Secretarial Science from Northern Virginia Community College. She moved to the Low Country with her husband in 2011 and built their lifetime home at Hampton Pointe. They have four children and SIX grandchildren.  Carolyn retired in 2015 from Georgia Biomass in Savannah where she was the Executive Assistant to the CEO and Vice President of Operations. Since moving to the Low Country she immediately became involved with City government being appointed as a member of the City of Hardeeville Board of Zoning Appeals. In 2013 the City of Hardeeville Council, Jasper County Council and the Town of Ridgeland Council allowed her to make a presentation on Texting and Distracted Driving which resulted in each jurisdiction passing a Texting and Distracted Driving ordinance. South Carolina was only 1 of 3 states in the United States that did not have a Texting and Distracted Driving law. Jurisdictions were left to create and enforce their own ordinances. In 2014, the State of South Carolina legislature finally passed a state-wide law. She currently volunteers at Coastal Carolina Hospital in the Emergency Room one day a week and also at the Coastal Arts Center in Hilton Head.
